The Château Royal belongs to the Conseil Départemental 66. Immersed in the sea and ideally located in the town centre, it is one of Collioure's little marvels, thanks to its history, beauty and imposing appearance. It was listed as a Historic Monument in 1922. The first fortification on this site was a Roman castrum.
The best way to make the most of your visit is to take a guided tour, which immerses you in the world of the castle. Shows and exhibitions are also regularly organised, and the castle hosts numerous events.
