"COLLIOURE, A FILM SET" EXHIBITION
The Friday 25 April at 10 a.m00
Musée d'Art Moderne 4 Route de Port-Vendres 66190 COLLIOURE
The Château Royal, often used as a backdrop for films made in Collioure, is organising a themed exhibition in collaboration with the Institut Jean Vigo.
Collioure, the most famous town in the Pyrénées-Orientales, inevitably charms many film-makers with its picturesque bay, sunny beaches, quaint little streets and impressive heritage (royal castle, church, etc.). Filmmakers are often attracted by the historical backdrop or by this attractive seaside resort.
From “Le Fils de Caroline, chérie” by Jean Devaivre in 1955 to “J’ai oublié de te dire” by Laurent Vinas-Raymond in 2010, not forgetting “Et Satan conduit le bal” by Grisha Dabat and Roger Vadim in 1962, starring Catherine Deneuve, Bernadette Lafont and Jacques Perrin, or “Le petit baigneur” by Robert Dhéry in 1968 with Louis de Funès, Collioure has provided the backdrop for historical films, comedies and sentimental vaudevilles.
This exhibition also illustrates the evolution of poster art from the 1950s to the present day, presenting the creations of these artists and the famous poster artists associated with them.
The exhibition has been designed and produced by the Institut Jean Vigo using its own collections.
Opening on Friday 11 April at 6.30pm.
Practical information: 10am-6pm until 30 June / 9.30am-6.30pm in July and August.
Free admission for under-26s.
