JAN WACHOWSKI AND THE PERPIGNAN CATALOGNE ORCHESTRA
Jan Wachowski, winner of the Alain Marinaro International Piano Competition in Collioure in 2024, accompanied by the Orchestre Perpignan-Catalogne conducted by Timothée Tosi, will perform the solo part of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, Op. 58.
Jan Wachowski completed his studies in piano and composition at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He is currently pursuing a specialised master's degree in piano at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in the class of Eliane Reyes. He has performed in concert halls in : Belgium (Théâtre royal du Parc), China (Beijing Forbidden City Philharmonic), Germany, Italy and Poland (National Philharmonic and Frederic Chopin's Birthplace in Żelazowa Wola). His greatest pianistic achievement is 1st prize in the category of pianists under 37 at the 21st Pietro Argento International Piano Competition in Italy, at the age of 19, the youngest pianist to be awarded in this category at this competition. He was awarded the Bechstein Prize and the Young Poland Prize from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
As a composer, his Piano Quintet was recognised as the best piano quintet at the 1st International Composition Competition for Consonant Music Cum Laude Music Awards in Madrid.
