Points 2 vues

Have you ever noticed the ‘Points 2 vues’ frames all over the city? This is an in situ installation concept created by the artist Marc-André 2 Figueres. The route follows the natural promenade along the bay of Collioure and takes in the space, not represented in its pictorial form but in its reality, which depends closely on the viewer’s point of view.

The 12 settings in Collioure: La Chapelle Saint-Vincent, Le Boramar, La Jetée, Le Port, L’Orme du Château Royal, La Chapelle du Château Royal, Le Port d’Avall, Le Boutigué, La Balette, Le Musée, La Glorieta, Le Fort Saint Elme

The Square Fort and the Round Fort

Beyond the Miradou Fort, the Square Fort, a powerful fortress, and the Round Fort (Tower of the Star) constitute some of the elements of the defensive system to the north of the city, dominating the hills overlooking the sea. This path is also used during the coastal path walk.

Fort carré

The Gloriette

A building of pure Moorish style, you will find the Gloriette of the Pam Gardens on the path leading to the Mill. 20 minutes from Collioure’s historic centre, you will be stunned by its magnificent view over the bay of Collioure.

La Glorieta

Fort Saint Elme

Fort Saint Elme was built by Charles V between 1538 and 1552, and remodelled in 1680 by Vauban. Its star-shaped architecture, walls over 8 metres thick, loopholes, stunners and other traps make it an impregnable fortress. Rising up over the fields, Fort Saint Elme offers spectacular views over the sea and mountains. It’s an unmissable spot for a walk.
