ANCHOIS DESCLAUX

  • Discover regional products
  • Demonstration and tasting workshops
  • Viewing of the film presenting the history of anchovies

The Maison de l'Anchois is delighted to welcome you to discover its regional products. In the main house, recognisable by its large blue facade on the carrefour du Christ, you'll find an exhibition room in which the history of Collioure anchovies is summarised through a collection of paintings, black and white photos and everyday objects.

For the Desclaux family, it's a family affair: "We've been producing anchovies in Collioure since 1903. This means that we buy it from the fishermen and process it with salt using the same manufacturing process as in the Middle Ages", explains Remy Desclaux, the great-great-grandson of the creator. You'll also be able to take part in live demonstration and tasting workshops. If you're won over, take advantage of a wide range of products sold direct. "Everything is beautifully presented and the welcome is designed to ensure that you spend a pleasant moment in our company".

Our know-how has been preserved and passed down from generation to generation. Anchovies in salt, in oil or in different variations, this local star with Mediterranean flavours has always been prepared by hand.

During your visit, don't miss the head office, a former workshop that has been retracing the history of the Desclaux anchovy for 20 years. It's a place where you can share the emotions and colours of the South. The second shop, located in the town centre, invites you to discover the richness of the Catalan terroir through products "made here".
