There is no Fauvism museum, there is the Collioure Modern Art Museum but there are no Fauvism artworks on display there.

There is also the Vitrine sur le Fauvisme venue,which is not a museum, but a cultural space with 3 distinct areas:

  • 1 shop selling posters of Fauvism artworks, postcards, magnets, books on the history and art of Collioure and many other curiosities to discover!
  • The departure point for guided walks and creative workshops for children.

Fort Saint Elme is closed to visitors, but you can still discover the exterior and admire the breathtaking views over the bay of Collioure. The walk to get there offers numerous viewpoints.

You can also get to Fort Saint Elme by car via Port Vendres, or you can take the little train (leaving from Place du 8 Mai) or go on foot via the museum, the gazebo, the mill and then on to Fort Saint Elme the museum, the Gloriette, the Moulin (mill), then on to Fort Saint Elme

Coming as a family

It’s not easy to visit the Château with a pushchair because there are steps to get up to the Château, but you can use it in the courtyard. We recommend you take a baby carrier or visit on foot.

It’s not easy to visit Collioure with a pushchair, because the town has a lot of steps. However, you can walk along the seafront and stroll through the Mouré or the Port d’Avall  districts (carrying your pushchair if there are steps). You can also stroll around the shops in Collioure. If you can, opt for a baby carrier or explore on foot.

Disabilities

The little tourist train is not equipped to accommodate PRM.

However, at the kiosk, staff can help you to seat the person if they are accompanied and able to get up from the wheelchair to the seat on the train (with assistance).

It’s worth noting that the little train moves quite a bit during the ride, so if the person is not able to stay upright, the journey could be a little tricky.
